As an American, I need a visa to be able to travel to Brazil for our friend's wedding in mid-September. I had been told (and reminded) that I needed to do this before I left for the US, but somehow I just let this slip. So in a Hail Mary moment this morning, I went first thing to the Brazilian Embassy here in Seoul to find out if I would be able to get it before I leave on Thursday. The US website said that it would take 7-10 days to do so in DC and I figured that it would be similar here :(
However, Korean pahli pahli style did not disappoint. It was one of the quickest and most efficient trips to an embassy I have ever had! Switzerland has nothing on South Korea. I can come back in two days to pick up my visa! Looks like my prayers were answered and I will be able to make it to Murillo's wedding after all :)

Gangnam Style
In case you haven't heard the hottest new hit out of Seoul, South Korea- here is a news clip and the full video below. We live in the part of Seoul that he is singing about. So, as Nicholas likes to share, this is not the first time a video has been made about the neighborhood or city we have lived. Remember this one about Arlington? :)

Swiss-American
In case we ever miss Switzerland, or Montana for that matter, just a block from our apartment is this culturally confused restaurant :) I do plan on going some day to see what kind of food and atmosphere is inside!

Seriously, what have I been up to?!
Admittedly, this summer I failed at keeping up this blog. What could I possibly have been doing to keep me away from writing... to name a few things: our continuous stream of visitors, intensive Korean classes, my UPenn health policy remote class, getting out a bit, traveling around Korea, and maintaining some sort of house, etc. I have just not had the time to dedicate to this.
So many stories coming from the summer:
B&L Visit
4D Theaters
Korean Bathhouses
RM Visit
Kye Family Korea Tour
Trip to a little Island with David and A
Online classes
And... in just two weeks, I will be heading back to the mother land :) I am so excited to go back and join my old team, 4 years later, and get back into the work I love! From there, it is off to Brazil for a good friend's wedding then back to Korea.
Get your bags packed, this is going to be quite a ride!

Little Alicia, all grown up!
My "little" cousin Alicia just finished her degree in nursing and is on to conquer the world and keep us all healthy :) Such a big accomplishment! Sad I couldn't be there for the graduation but I am thinking of you. You have a big, bright future ahead!
